130 Units of Blood Donated at ICFAI.

Agartala, Tripura, 10th of April 2026 : The Allied Health Science department of the ICFAI University Tripura organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 10th April 2026 as part of the observance of World Health Day 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Swami Amartya Nanda Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission, Agartala, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr.Subhashis Roy, Deputy Director of Blood Transfusion Services, Government of Tripura, attended the event as the Special Guest. Welcome Address given by Dr. A. Ranganath, Registrar of the ICFAI University Tripura. Students, faculty members, and staff from various departments of the University, along with members of the NSS Unit, actively participated in the voluntary blood donation camp. The collected blood units were managed by the Blood Transfusion Services& IGM Hospital Agartala.

Following the inauguration,Dr.Subhashis Roy highlighted the urgent need for blood in the state and informed that the ICFAI University Tripura is doing a novel activity of donating blood whenever an emergency crisis occurs in the blood bank. He expressed appreciation to the ICFAI University Tripura for the great initiatives towards humanity. Swami Amartya Nanda Maharaj Ji delivered a motivational address, emphasizing the importance of voluntary blood donation. He also motivated the donors and students of the university to come forward for donating blood for their own benefit and building human qualities.

A total of 127 units of blood were donated in 2023 at ICFAI University Tripura, making it the highest number of donations recorded by an educational institution in a single drive. This time, 135 students, faculty members, and staff donated blood,setting a new benchmark that will inspire an even greater number of blood donors in the future.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) BiplabHalder, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement in this noble and life-saving initiative.
