Massive Fire Breaks Out At Rubber Warehouse And Processing Center In Madhuban ADC Village; Loss Estimated At ₹1.80 Crore.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of January, 2026 : A massive fire broke out at a rubber warehouse and rubber processing center in Madhuban ADC Village under the Anandabazar area of Dharmanagar subdivision on the night of Republic Day. The incident occurred at the rubber godown owned by Pritam Nath, son of Nirmal Nath and a resident of Ward No. 2 of the village.

According to sources, the fire started at around 11:00 pm on January 26. By the time the first fire service unit arrived at the spot, the flames had spread rapidly across the entire rubber processing center, making the situation extremely critical.The devastating fire caused extensive damage to the warehouse and processing unit, resulting in an estimated loss of around ₹1.80 crore. It is reported that nearly 55 tonnes of rubber were stored in the godown at the time of the incident, all of which were completely destroyed.Upon receiving information, fire service personnel from Dharmanagar rushed to the spot and immediately began firefighting operations. However, as the fire went out of control, additional support was sought.

Two more fire tenders from Dharmanagar and one from Panisagar were pressed into service, taking the total number of fire units to four.After hours of intense effort, the fire was finally brought under control at around 2:30 am. By then, the entire rubber processing center had been reduced to ashes. Due to the timely intervention of the fire service, the residential house of Pritam Chandra Nath and the houses of his three uncles were successfully saved from the flames.The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, preliminary suspicion points towards an electrical short circuit as the possible cause. An investigation into the incident is underway.
