Mumbai, Maharashtra, 30th of January, 2026 : Known for its fast-paced life, dreams, and dazzling glamour, Mumbai is now set to witness an extraordinary spiritual chapter that will be etched in golden letters in the history of Maharashtra. For the first time on such a monumental scale, Jain Diksha Mahotsav 2026 – ‘Sanyamrang Utsav’ is being organized in the Chikuwadi area of Borivali West. On 8 February 2026, a historic moment will unfold when 18 men and 46 women, a total of 64 aspirants, will collectively renounce worldly life and embrace Jain Diksha under one grand pavilion. The sight promises to be a powerful confluence of faith, courage, renunciation, and spiritual awakening.

The five-day festival, scheduled from 4 February to 8 February 2026, will take place in a specially created spiritual township spread across 2,50,000 square feet. The entire campus will resonate with the values of renunciation, austerity, self-restraint, and Jain philosophy—transforming the space into a living realm of spiritual practice rather than just a venue.

This historic Diksha ceremony will be held in the revered presence of Gachchhadhipati Pujya Som Sundarsuriji Maharaj Saheb, along with several other respected Jain Acharyas. The Diksha rituals will be conducted under the guidance of Pujya Yogtilaksuriji Maharaj Saheb, following the sacred traditions of the Pujya Shantichandrasuri lineage. Adding to the sanctity of the occasion, the presence of over 800 Jain monks and nuns will envelop the atmosphere in profound spiritual energy.

Each evening, the Derasar will be illuminated with more than 1,000 lamps, creating a divine glow reminiscent of Diwali. Renowned devotional singers Manan Sanghvi, Shivam Singh, Sunny Shah, along with 12 music teams, will present soulful bhakti music and cultural performances, enriching the spiritual experience of devotees.

One of the most inspiring aspects of this Diksha Mahotsav is the diversity of the aspirants—ranging from a 9-year-old child to a 72-year-old elder. Remarkably, three complete families and four couples (husband and wife) will renounce worldly life together. Aspirants are arriving from nine Indian states and cities, as well as two participants from the United States of America, reflecting the global spiritual reach of Jainism.

It is noteworthy that in 2019, the same Chikuwadi area hosted a collective Diksha of 44 aspirants, and over the past decade, more than 350 people have taken Diksha under the pious guidance of Pujya Yogtilaksuriji Maharaj Saheb. Adding to the historic significance, the year 2026 marks the Diksha centenary of Pujya Shantichandrasuriji Maharaj Saheb, making this grand event even more momentous.

The Jain Diksha Mahotsav 2026 – Sanyamrang Utsav is set to become a landmark spiritual event, not only in Jain tradition but also in Mumbai’s cultural and spiritual landscape—an inspiring testament to faith, discipline, and the timeless path of renunciation.
