Mumbai, Maharashtra, 4th of February, 2026 : National Award–winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, known for exposing the hidden realities behind glamour and power, has officially wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film The Wives. With hard-hitting films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, Heroine, Traffic Signal and Babli Bouncer, Bhandarkar has consistently brought the unseen sides of society to the forefront. This time, he turns his lens toward the world of Bollywood star wives.

The Wives goes beyond camera flashes and red carpets to explore an intimate emotional space—where relationships struggle to survive amid fame, power and carefully crafted public images. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa and Freddy Daruwala in pivotal roles.

Renowned for his realism and emotional depth, Bhandarkar once again delves into Bollywood’s underbelly through The Wives—a world where glamour masks insecurity, ambition, silence and emotional survival. The film promises a layered and relevant narrative that reflects the complexities of modern relationships shaped by fame.

Speaking about the film, Madhur Bhandarkar said, “The Wives looks beyond the spotlight into personal lives that often get overshadowed by fame. It explores relationships, ambition and emotional struggles in a world driven by image and success. I wanted to tell this story with honesty and sensitivity.”

Producer Pranav Jain of PJ Motion Pictures shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating,

“Working with Madhur sir is always a creatively fulfilling experience. He has a rare ability to present complex human stories in a deeply relatable way. The Wives is bold, thought-provoking and emotionally driven, and I believe it will resonate strongly with audiences who appreciate meaningful cinema.”

Produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and PJ Motion Pictures, The Wives marks Madhur Bhandarkar and Pranav Jain’s second collaboration after India Lockdown. With this project, the duo once again comes together to support content-driven cinema rooted in contemporary realities.

The Wives is set to shine a revealing light on lives that appear perfect on the surface—but carry untold emotional truths beneath.
