Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of February, 2026 : An exciting cricket competition—‘Longkai Cup–2026’ 11-a-Side Knockout Cricket Tournament (Season–01)—is set to begin in the coming days at Nitainagar village under the Damchhara Block of North Tripura. The tournament is being organized by Nitainagar Youth Club and Youngster Club with the initiative of local sports enthusiasts.The venue for the tournament has been fixed at Nitainagar, Damchhara, North Tripura. Matches will be played in a 15-over format, following the latest ICC rules (excluding the review system). The first 4 overs will be designated as a mandatory powerplay.

According to the organizing committee, the champion team will receive ₹25,000 in cash along with a trophy, while the runners-up team will be awarded ₹10,000 in cash and a trophy. In addition, special prizes will be presented for Man of the Tournament, Man of the Match, and in the final match—Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Big Six Hitter, and Best Fielder. Several rules have been set for players. Matches will be played with a Vicky tennis ball. A bowler can bowl a maximum of 3 overs. Leg byes and LBW will not be considered valid, and red-colored jerseys are prohibited. Wearing shoes and long pants is mandatory for all players. Each team must consist of (11+1)players. Players from North Tripura, Unakoti district, and Karimganj district of Assam are eligible to participate in the tournament. The entry fee per team is ₹1,600 (including the ball).
