Dharmanagar, Tripura, 5th of February, 2026 : With the objective of strengthening leprosy control measures and improving the quality of healthcare services, a district-level convergence meeting along with a District Quality Assurance Committee (DQAC) meeting was held on Thursday in Dharmanagar, North Tripura district. The important meeting took place on 5th February at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate and Collector, North Tripura.The meeting was chaired by the District Magistrate of North Tripura, Ms. Chandni Chandran. Present on the occasion were the Chief Medical Officer of North Tripura, Dr. Dipak Haldar, along with officials from various line departments, health department officers, and health staff.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of the leprosy eradication programme, strengthening inter- departmental coordination, identification of patients, and improvement of treatment facilities. Emphasis was also laid on ensuring and enhancing the quality of services in government health institutions through the District Quality Assurance Committee, and necessary guidelines were issued in this regard.The district administration urged all concerned departments to work in close coordination so that leprosy control and other public health programmes can be implemented more effectively across the district.
