Bengaluru, Karnataka, 7th of February, 2026 : The second session of the Jashn-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.) Golden Jubilee Seminar was held in a dignified, intellectually rich and inspiring atmosphere at Heavens Palace, Manglaur, in Haridwar district. The session was conducted by Najib Ilahabadi and witnessed participation from eminent national thinkers, scholars and religious leaders, who reflected on the universal message of Karbala—truth, justice, sacrifice, unity and humanity—describing it as an urgent necessity for contemporary India.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak, Muslim Rashtriya Manch and National Executive Member, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, said that he has spoken on Imam Hussain and the philosophy of Hussainiyat at several national and international platforms. Referring to his inaugural address at an international conference in Delhi, he remarked, “Urdu is not homeless. Hindustan is the home of Urdu, and it will always remain so. If Urdu were not an Indian language, it would never have appeared on India’s currency.”

Emphasising inclusivity, he stated that Urdu has always been an integral part of India’s cultural fabric. Explaining the meaning of the term ‘minority’, he said,“You may come under the label of minority, but you are neither foreigners nor outsiders nor tenants—you are the true inheritors of this land.”

Explaining the deeper meaning of being a ‘Haji’, Dr. Indresh Kumar said it is not merely a physical journey, but a moral transformation—eliminating inner evils and becoming an honest, socially responsible human being. He concluded by stating, “This is Hussain’s Hindustan. Centuries ago, the sacrifice of Imam Hussain gave this land its moral direction and ethical identity—this is the true soul of India.”

Prof. Shahid Akhtar, Officiating Chairman, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI), Government of India, said that Imam Hussain’s message transcends time, geography and community, representing the collective voice of humanity.

“Karbala teaches us that victory is not achieved through power, but through truth, patience and character. Yazid lost despite having power, while Imam Hussain achieved eternal victory through sacrifice,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of documenting and preserving the scholarly papers and deliberations of the seminar for future generations.

Col. Tahir Mustafa, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi, described Imam Hussain’s sacrifice as an everlasting example of truth, justice and humanity. “One who sacrifices himself for truth never truly dies—his voice echoes through centuries,” he remarked. He further added that every religion upholds the values of humanity, love and justice, and that India’s real strength lies in dialogue, equality and mutual respect.

Maulana Qausar Mujtaba said,
“Imam Hussain is not merely a date in history; he is the light of humanity. Hussain stands for unity, not division.” He added that India has always been a land of peace and harmony, and that the true message of Hussainiyat lies in walking together across faiths. “We will carry a Hussaini bouquet to the world with the message that humanity stands above all,” he said.

Dr. Imran Chowdhury, Scholar, stated that
“The message of Imam Hussain (A.S.) is not just history—it is a necessity of our times. Sacrifice is not a ritual; it is standing firmly against oppression.” He emphasised that Hussainiyat must be practiced through action, not merely words, and that providing proper education and moral direction to children is the truest form of sacrifice.

Maulana Kokab Mustafa, Senior Islamic Scholar, said that Karbala is not the legacy of one community but the heritage of all humanity, and that raising one’s voice against injustice is the highest form of worship.

At the conclusion of the session, Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, the organiser, expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, participants and media representatives. The programme concluded as a powerful and meaningful initiative reinforcing peace, fraternity, constitutional values and moral courage.
