Amarpur, Tripura, 11th of February 2026 : With the initiative of Ompi CHC a Block Level TB Awareness cum Screening programme has been conducted here in Ampi Nagar Community hall in Gomati Tripura. On this occasion a large number of CHC staffs, block authoritirs, panchayat authorities and local villagers have assembled here in the programme venue and took active participation in the programme. In presence of many distinguished dignitaries the 41 Ampi constituency MLA Pathan Lal Jamatia has inaugurated the event. To promote the propaganda of Tuberculosis awareness the concerned CHC authority has organized a mega rally & cyclothan where a large number of youths and school students have taken participation.

Addressing the gathering Ompi CHC in-charge Dr. Milan Bhakta Jamatia has said, ” TB awareness programme is essential to make common people alert over the deadly outcome of TB. Tuberculosis (TB) kills primarily by destroying lung tissue through bacterial infection, leading to severe pneumonia, respiratory failure, or massive bleeding. The Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria release enzymes that create cavities in the lungs, making breathing impossible. If the infection spreads to other organs (miliary TB), it can cause fatal organ failure.” He more added that to save human life sufficient awareness campaign is required in every block of the state.

Amidst the other distinguished participants there were Norbahadur Reang SDPO, Ampi, Shakti Sadhan Jamatia, OC, Ampi, Sindhu Chandra Jamatia, Ampi block BAC chairman, Ruatfela Darlong, BDO, Ampi and many others remained present in the event.
