No Impact Of 24-Hour Strike In Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 12th of February, 2026 : The 24-hour nationwide strike called by the Left parties had no significant impact in Dharmanagar. Although partial effects were noticed in some parts of the town in the morning, shops and business establishments gradually opened, and normal life largely continued. While a handful of commercial establishments remained closed, the town did not come to a complete standstill.To prevent any untoward incidents, additional police forces were deployed at important intersections and market areas. In support of the strike, a rally was taken out in the morning under the leadership of CPI(M), marching through the town’s main roads. Police maintained strict surveillance during the procession. Patrolling was intensified under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and the Officer- in-Charge of the local police station to ensure that no disturbances occurred.Markets remained open throughout the day.

Government offices, courts, schools, and colleges functioned as usual, although attendance was comparatively low. Auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws were seen operating on the roads. Long-distance bus services were unaffected, and train services between Dharmanagar and Agartala ran normally. As a result, commuters did not face major inconvenience. According to police sources, precautionary measures were taken to maintain law and order. No major untoward incidents were reported. Meanwhile, the administration stated that the situation remained normal and peaceful. Attention now turns to the overall assessment of the day’s developments.
