Finally, Five Accused Presented Before High Court In The Prasenjit Sarkar Death Case.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 25th of February, 2026 : A new development has emerged in the mysterious death case of online delivery worker Prasenjit Sarkar from Dharmanagar in North Tripura. After a prolonged legal process, five accused persons were finally produced before the High Court today from the lower court. According to High Court advocate Debdas Bakshi, no bail was granted to the accused, and the case has been transferred to the High Court for further proceedings.It is learned that the charge sheet in the case was filed 72 days after the incident. Following the submission of the charge sheet, a fresh hearing was held today. During the hearing, when the five accused were presented before the court, the honorable court decided to transfer the matter to the High Court.

Advocate Debdas Bakshi stated that he has been handling the case for the past 72 days. He alleged that while the accused were in judicial custody, attempts were made to threaten witnesses in the case. This issue, he said, has also been brought to the attention of the court.He further expressed hope that the next phase of the trial process will begin soon. “We are optimistic that the proceedings will move forward at the earliest. We will continue to make every possible legal effort to ensure justice,” he said.The death of Prasenjit Sarkar had sparked strong reactions in the area from the very beginning. Family members and local residents have been demanding exemplary punishment for the culprits. With the recent progress in the case, they have expressed some relief. Advocate Debdas Bakshi also thanked the media for highlighting the matter before society.All eyes are now on the next steps to be taken by the High Court, as many hope that the long wait for justice will soon come to an end with the commencement of speedy trial proceedings.
