Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of February, 2026 : On the occasion of Police Week 2026, the North District Police organized a colorful bike rally in Dharmanagar town on Friday morning, February 27. The special initiative was undertaken to promote social awareness, informed Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, IPS.The rally commenced from the premises of Dharmanagar Police Station and passed through various important roads of the town before concluding at the same location. Police officers and personnel from different police stations across North District participated in the rally, creating a positive atmosphere of awareness throughout the town.Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai stated that the primary objective of the bike rally was to spread awareness against child marriage and to promote the vision of a drug-free society. He said, “To ensure a healthy and safe society, not only the police but also ordinary citizens must come forward equally. Cooperation from all sections of society is essential to eradicate social evils like child marriage and drug addiction.

”Among those present at the programme were Additional Superintendent of Police Kamal Debbarma, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Dharmanagar Jayanta Karmakar, Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station Meena Debbarma, along with other police officials and personnel.As part of Police Week celebrations, an art competition for young children was also organized at Dharmanagar Police Station. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by the participating children were remarkable. The Superintendent of Police mentioned that one of the key objectives of this initiative was to build a friendly relationship between the police, children, and their guardians, and to eliminate unnecessary fear of the police. Through direct engagement with children, the programme aimed to instill a sense of trust and security in their minds.It is noteworthy that the North District Police recently received multiple awards and recognitions from the Chief Minister of the state and senior police officials.
Describing these achievements as a matter of pride for the district, the Superintendent of Police said, “These honours have increased our responsibility. We will continue to work for the welfare of society in the days to come.”The multi-dimensional initiatives undertaken during Police Week have further strengthened the message of social awareness across North District, according to concerned citizens.
