Allegation Of Bringing Back Minor Girl In Defiance Of Administration In Kailashahar: Case Filed Against Youth.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of March, 2026 : Tension has gripped Kailashahar following allegations of child marriage and defiance of administrative orders. A case has been filed against a youth named Aditya Sarkar for allegedly bringing back a minor girl to his home in violation of the directives issued by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).The incident took place in Ward No. 13 of Kalipur Bandherpar area under Kailashahar Municipal Council. According to reports, Aditya Sarkar, son of Amulya Sarkar and a resident of the same ward, had married a 16-year-old minor girl from the Irani police station area some days ago.Upon receiving information, the Child Protection Unit and Child Helpline authorities immediately intervened. Both individuals were rescued and produced before the Child Welfare Committee.

Acting on administrative instructions, the minor girl and the youth were separated.However, allegations have surfaced that despite the administration’s strict warning, Aditya Sarkar secretly resumed visiting the minor’s house and eventually brought her back to his residence. When the matter came to the notice of the Child Welfare Services (CWS), authorities took action.This afternoon, a written complaint was lodged against Aditya Sarkar at the Kailashahar Women Police Station.

Present during the submission of the complaint were:Dayal Hari Ghosh, District Coordinator of Child Helpline, Unakoti Supervisors Binay Deb, Sanjit Sharma, and Nimai RoyThe complaint was signed by LCPO Sagardwip MalakarSpeaking to the media, Child Helpline Supervisor Binay Deb stated that child marriage is a social crime. He appealed to all guardians to remain vigilant and said:“Take special care of your daughters. Do not arrange marriages during their minor years. The government has several schemes and facilities for girls—please make use of them.”Police of the Kailashahar Women Police Station have already begun investigating the matter. Strict legal action may be taken against Aditya Sarkar for allegedly defying administrative orders.
