‘Dol Utsav’ Organized By ICA Department Govt. of Tripura.

Agartala, Tripura, 10th of March, 2026 : With The Initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura Dol Utsav has been organized at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan Premises, Agartala, Tripura on Tuesday (10th March, 2026).

In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder has inaugurated the Dol Utsav by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.

Addressing at the celebration ceremony of Dol Utsav Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder said that the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs has been continuously making efforts to preserve and promote the rich heritage and culture of the state. Through the organisation of cultural programmes like Basanta Utsav, special emphasis is being placed on promoting the state’s composite culture and highlighting the need to preserve it.

Mayor of AMC Dipak Majumder also added that one of the distinctive features of the state is its diverse culture. To preserve and promote the traditional cultures of the various communities and tribes of the state, the department has been organising various cultural programmes throughout the year. As a result, artists of the state are getting opportunities to showcase their talents and present the rich cultural heritage to the new generation. Nearly a century ago, Rabindranath Tagore initiated the Basanta Utsav at Santiniketan, which has now gained international recognition. Through various cultural programmes organized around the spring season, a message of unity, harmony, and communal goodwill is being spread among people.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries participants there were Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Vice Chairman of the State-level Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
