Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Speeding Magic Vehicle.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 12th of March, 2026 : A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a road accident that occurred on Thursday at Anandabazar area under Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura. The accident took place after a motorcycle collided head-on with an unidentified speeding Magic vehicle.According to reports, the injured motorcyclist has been identified as Anjan Debnath (40), son of Abani Debnath, a resident of Lakshmipur under Anandabazar. At the time of the accident, he was riding his motorcycle bearing registration number TR02A4687.Eyewitnesses said that a Magic vehicle coming from the opposite direction at high speed suddenly crashed into the motorcycle. Immediately after the collision, the vehicle fled the scene. Due to its excessive speed, the registration number of the Magic vehicle could not be identified.Following the incident, local residents promptly informed the Dharmanagar Fire Department. Fire service personnel quickly reached the spot, rescued the injured rider, and rushed him to Dharmanagar District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident has triggered strong resentment among local residents. According to them, speeding vehicles have been a long-standing problem in the Anandabazar and nearby areas. However, they allege that the traffic department has not taken effective measures to control the situation.Locals further claimed that traffic personnel are mostly seen issuing challans to motorcyclists, while reckless Magic and other commercial vehicles often go unchecked. Residents warned that if strict measures are not taken soon, there is a risk of more serious accidents in the future.They have therefore urged the administration to strengthen traffic control and take strict action against reckless drivers.
