Dharmanagar, Tripura, 12th of March, 2026 : A colorful sub-divisional Dol festival was organized in Dharmanagar of North Tripura on Thursday morning. The event, held at the banks of Kalidighi at 7 a.m. on March 12, brought together people from different sections of society who celebrated the occasion in an atmosphere filled with colors, joy, and communal harmony.The festival was jointly organized by the Sub-Divisional Information and Cultural Office and the Dharmanagar Municipal Council. From early morning, the area witnessed a festive atmosphere as people gathered to take part in the celebration.
Among those present at the event were Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen, noted social worker Kajal Das, District Information and Cultural Officer Ripon Chakma, eminent cultural personality Samar Chakraborty, Cultural Advisory Committee member Ashok Kumar Dey, along with several other distinguished guests.The program was formally inaugurated by Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen. In her inaugural address, she stated that the Dol festival is not merely a festival of colors but also carries a message of brotherhood, harmony, and love. She emphasized that such festivals play an important role in bringing people from all sections of society together.The event featured a rich cultural program. Local artists and members of various cultural organizations entertained the audience with performances of music, dance, and recitation.
A discussion session was also organized, where speakers highlighted the tradition of the Dol festival, its social significance, and its message of communal harmony. Participants celebrated the occasion by applying abir and colors to one another, sharing the joy of the festival. The banks of Kalidighi turned lively as people celebrated together in a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere.The organizers stated that the true spirit of the Dol festival lies in spreading joy and harmony. Through such events, their aim is to promote unity and goodwill among people from all walks of life.It may be mentioned that, like every year, this sub-divisional Dol festival in Dharmanagar witnessed great enthusiasm and participation from the public. From early morning, a large number of people joined the celebration, immersing themselves in the festive colors and reinforcing the message of harmony and togetherness.
