Tight Border Surveillance, Coordination Meeting Between Two States to Ensure Peaceful Elections.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 24th of March 2026 : In view of the upcoming Assam elections and the by-election in Dharmanagar of North Tripura, an important inter-district coordination meeting was held to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair electoral process in the interstate border areas.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on strengthening security in border regions, preventing the movement of illegal goods and cash, and increasing surveillance on suspicious activities.

As part of the initiative, Sribhumi Senior Superintendent of Police Leena Doley, along with DSP (Headquarters) Manas Choudhury, visited the office of the Superintendent of Police of North District. There, they jointly participated in the coordination meeting with North District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, IPS.The meeting emphasized enhanced information sharing between the police administrations of both states, strengthening naka checking, and increasing joint patrolling in border areas. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to stronger mutual cooperation to maintain law and order during the election period.

The administration stated that such coordinated initiatives will further strengthen security in border areas and ensure that voters can exercise their democratic rights without fear.
