Agartala, Tripura, 1st of April, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Wednesday (1st April, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 48 nos bottles ofEskuf cough syrup.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartalaat about 07 PM we managed to catch 01 person namely Sri Bhagaru Kumar (22) S/O- Lt. Vijoy Nandan Thakur Of Barhampur, PO- Sayesthapur, PS- Raghupur, State- Bihar at parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet of Agartala Railway Station along with total 48 (forty eight) nos bottles of suspected contraband narcotic ESkuf cough syrup in his pitthu bag respectively.
The destination market value of the Eskuf cough syrup is approximately to be 50,000 (fifty thousand) only.
Accordingly we have apprehended him and seized the contraband ESkuf cough syrup. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP021, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Officer-in-Charge of Agartala GRP police station, Raju Bhowmik gave details about this and he also stated that such operations would continue next day.
