Agartala, Tripura, 4th of April, 2026 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today visited the house of Manimala Debbarma, a 69-year-old Janajati woman who was tragically killed in a wild elephant attack late last night.

Before attending an election rally in Chakmaghat, he visited Ramakrishnapur ADC Village under Mungiakami Block and spoke with the bereaved family. The family members and relatives were in tears upon seeing the Chief Minister.
“This is very unfortunate. I have come here to see the situation personally. Whatever assistance is possible from our end will be provided. As per the rules, help from the State Government will be arranged,” said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister expressed deep grief and condolences to the family and assured them that the state government stands with them in this difficult time.

The family was immediately provided financial assistance of Rs. 4 lakh from the SDRF fund through the subdivision administration. The Forest Department also extended Rs. 1 lakh as additional support.
Among others, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Dr. Sambit Patra, Northeast Coordinator of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and other officials.
