Dharmanagar, Tripura, 11th of April 2026 : With the ADC elections scheduled for tomorrow, tension is steadily rising in various parts of North Tripura. Amid this, an incident in the No. 4 Karamchhara ADC Village area on Saturday afternoon created a stir over allegations of illegal cash distribution.The incident took place at Selpuichhara village under Booth No. 3 of the Madhuban ADC area. According to reports, former MLA and BJP State OBC Morcha President Molina Nath was stopped and questioned by some locals while returning after campaigning.

The locals alleged that there was an attempt to distribute money in violation of the election code of conduct. The situation remained tense for some time but was later brought under control. Police from Dharmanagar Police Station quickly reached the spot and managed the situation.Reacting to the incident, jubarajnagar MLA Shailendra Chandra Debnath said that such allegations ahead of elections are very serious and need to be thoroughly investigated.
He urged the administration to ensure a fair probe so that the elections can be conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner.Meanwhile, the administration has stepped up security measures ahead of the elections. Additional police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order.
