Dharmanagar, Tripura, 18th of April 2026 : Police of Dharmanagar Police Station have achieved another breakthrough in the investigation of the Khaled murder case that took place on the day of Eid at Mangal Khali. In a special operation, two more key accused in the case have been arrested. They were apprehended during a late-night raid on Saturday in the Padmabil area of North District.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Akram Ali (28), son of Md. Kutub Ali, a resident of Ward No. 1, Mangal Khali, and Abdul Noor, also known as Jubel Hossain. According to police sources, the operation was carried out based on Dharmanagar Police Station case no. 2026 DMN 017 (dated March 21, 2026). The accused have been charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.Police stated that the suspects had been under surveillance for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in the Padmabil area, leading to their arrest. The operation created a stir in the locality.The arrested individuals will be produced before the court on Sunday.
It is noteworthy that on Eid day, a youth named Khaled Ahmed was allegedly murdered in the Mangal Khali area, with accusations against a total of five individuals. One accused was arrested immediately after the incident. Subsequently, two more were arrested from the Ragna area, and with the latest arrests on Saturday, the total number of arrests in the case has risen to five.
Following the arrest of all five accused, a sense of relief has spread among local residents. They claimed that the accused were previously involved in various offenses. Locals have expressed satisfaction with the police action and hope that law and order in the area will further improve. Attention now turns to the next steps in the police investigation and court proceedings.
