Dharmanagar, Tripura, 19th of April 2026 : A sensation has spread in the Yakub Nagar area under Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura following a daring theft of iron rods from an orphanage. Acting swiftly, Dharmanagar Police have achieved initial success in the investigation, arresting two accused based on a tip-off.

According to police sources, iron rods kept for construction work at the orphanage recently went missing under mysterious circumstances. Upon discovering the theft, the orphanage authorities lodged a complaint at the police station, prompting an immediate investigation.

Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station, Mina Debbarma, stated that acting on confidential information, the accused were apprehended from the Yakub Nagar area. They are currently being interrogated, and police believe crucial information may emerge during questioning.Preliminary findings suggest that more individuals could be involved in the crime, raising suspicion of a larger organized racket behind the theft.
