Teliamura, Tripura, 20th of April 2026 : Before the elections, promises of “Thansa” were widely publicized. Now one is compelled to ask—what kind of Thansa is this? This so-called Thansa appears to be merely for political gain. However, it is a fact that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not believe in such Thansa. We believe in a form of development that strengthens unity among all communities and tribal groups, said state MP and Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee.

Hon’ble MP and Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajib Bhattacharjee visited the affected areas by political violence in Mungiakami under the 11 Maharanipur Teliamura constituency for an on-the-spot assessment. He was accompanied by Hon’ble Chief Whip of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA Kalyani Roy, BJP leader Bipin Debbarma and other party leaders.

During the visit, the delegation inspected the residence of minority morcha leader Rashid Miya, who was a victim of the political attack. They also visited the damaged party office in the Tuimdhu area, with Rajib Bhattacharjee and others present. Similarly, the entire team visited the temporary shelter at Jarailongbari.

Interacted with the media Rajib Bhattacharjee expressed strong solidarity with party workers affected by political violence. He strongly condemned the incidents occurring in various places after the announcement of election results, where a section of BJP leaders, workers, and supporters have been attacked, party offices vandalized, and in some cases, set on fire.

MP and BJP president also added that, those perpetrating the violence and those being victimized are all residents of the same State, and therefore appealed for an end to political violence in its entirety.
