Agartala, Tripura, 21st of April 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Tuesday (21st April, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested two (2) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total of 21.480 Kg Ganja.
According to sources, at about 2 PM Railway Police managed to catch two person namely i) Bipin Kumar Mandal (24), S/O- Sri Sudhir Mandal of Nawabganj, Purab Tola, Nawabganj Milik,PS- Kur, District- Katihar, State-Bihar and ii) Dhanraj Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Subhodh Mandal of Nawabganj Purab Tola, PO- Balthi Maheshpur,PS- Kursela ,Dist- Katihar, State-Bihar at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 21.480 Kg purported to be contraband narcotic Ganja in his duffle & pitthu bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs- 04 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly Railway Police arrested them and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP023, U/S-20(b)(ii)(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
