Two Drivers Critically Injured In Head-On Collision Due To Over-speeding.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of May 2026 : A devastating road accident occurred on Saturday (2nd May, 2026) around 6 PM on the main road at Ramnagar Uptakhali area under Panisagar subdivision in North Tripura. Two heavy vehicles collided head-on, leaving both drivers severely injured.

According to local sources, the impact of the collision was so intense that the front portions of both vehicles were completely mangled. Immediately after the accident, local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured drivers. They were first taken to the Uptakhali Primary Health Centre, but due to the worsening condition, they were quickly shifted to Dharmanagar District Hospital.It has been reported that both drivers are in critical condition and are currently under close medical observation. Preliminary assumptions suggest that overspeeding may have caused the accident. However, police have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause.The incident has created panic in the area and raised fresh concerns among locals regarding road safety.
