Major Gas Cylinder Theft Bust In Dharmanagar — 60 Cylinders Recovered In Single Operation, Sensation Across Area.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of May 2026 : A shocking case of gas cylinder theft has come to light in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, creating widespread concern in the area. Acting on a tip-off, Dharmanagar police conducted raids at multiple locations and successfully recovered a large number of gas cylinders.

According to Officer-in-Charge Meena Debbarma, 18 cylinders were recovered from the house of Azim Khan in the Purba Bazar area, 27 from the residence of Titon Pal in Padmapur Madhubari Link Road, and 15 from Salma Begum’s house in the Ragna area. In total, 60 gas cylinders were seized from these three locations. Many of the recovered cylinders were filled with gas, while some were empty.Police sources stated that the individuals concerned failed to produce any valid documents at the time of seizure, raising serious questions about the legality of the cylinders.

The Officer-in-Charge further informed that all the recovered cylinders will be handed over to the Dharmanagar Food Department. Officials from the department will conduct a detailed investigation and take necessary legal action.

Notably, no arrests have been made so far, and the police have intensified their investigation.The incident has triggered widespread concern across Dharmanagar, with residents expressing growing worries about safety and security.
