Dharmanagar, Tripura, 9th of May 2026 : On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the historic and sacred Somnath Temple, various religious programs are set to be organized across the country on Monday, May 11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in special prayers and rituals at the Somnath Temple on the day.Marking the occasion, a special Shiva Puja and religious programme will also be organized at the Town Kali Bari premises in Dharmanagar.
A preparatory meeting regarding the event was held at Town Kali Bari on Saturday.Present at the meeting were newly elected MLA Jahar Chakraborty, District Information and Cultural Affairs Department official Ripon Chakma, Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, along with several other distinguished personalities.Detailed discussions were held regarding the overall arrangements of the event, puja preparations, devotees’ participation, and the peaceful conduct of the program. Organizers stated that almost all preparations have been completed to celebrate the day with religious devotion and solemnity.Newly elected MLA Jahar Chakraborty also appealed to the people of Dharmanagar to participate in this grand religious occasion.
