Dharmanagar, Tripura, 9th of May 2026 : Amid growing political and social uproar surrounding the unnatural death of BJP Yuva Morcha Mandal President Rahul Kishore Ray in Dharmanagar, a fresh controversy has emerged over explosive allegations made on social media. A person named Biswajit Dey, through a Facebook post, made serious allegations against Barnali Goswami, wife of newly elected MLA Jahar Chakraborty. In the post, he claimed that despite Chief Minister Manik Saha directing a fair and impartial investigation into Rahul Kishore Ray’s death, “Barnali Goswami’s group is pressuring Dharmanagar police” not to follow those instructions.
Following the viral post, Barnali Goswami personally visited Dharmanagar Police Station on Friday night and submitted a written complaint against Biswajit Dey to Officer-in-Charge Mina Debbarma.According to sources, the complaint mentioned that false and motivated propaganda was being spread against her on social media.
Interacted with the media Barnali Goswami stated that certain media outlets and social media users were unnecessarily dragging her name into the matter and spreading misleading information. She alleged that political motives were behind the campaign of misinformation surrounding the tragic incident.She also expressed deep sorrow over the unnatural death of youth leader Rahul Kishore Ray and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. Meanwhile, the incident has triggered intense political discussion across the region.
