“Dharmanagar Resonates in Rabindra Remembrance”.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 10th of May 2026 : On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the World Poet Rabindranath Tagore, a grand cultural and tribute programme was organized today in Dharmanagar of North District on the occasion of 25th Boishakh.

The event, jointly organized by the Information & Cultural Affairs Department, School Education Department, and Dharmanagar Municipal Council, turned the entire area festive with the enthusiastic participation of Rabindra lovers from the morning itself. The programme began in the morning with floral tributes offered at the statue premises of the poet located on the northern bank of Kalidighi in Dharmanagar. This was followed by captivating performances of Rabindra Sangeet, recitations, and dance presentations, creating a mesmerizing cultural atmosphere.

Students to artists from various cultural organizations, participants showcased the timeless creations of the Bard through their performances.Among those present at the event were newly elected MLA of 56-Dharmanagar constituency Jahar Chakraborty. Eminent social worker Kajal Das attended as the chief guest. Also present were Joint Director of the North Tripura District Information & Cultural Affairs Office Ripon Chakma, District Education Officer Firanjan Tripura, along with several other distinguished personalities.

The programme was presided over by Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen.Speakers highlighted the significance of Rabindranath Tagore’s literature, culture, and humanistic philosophy in their addresses. Special emphasis was also laid on promoting Rabindra studies and cultural values among the younger generation.The programme created a festive atmosphere across Dharmanagar this morning, reflecting the immense respect and admiration people continue to hold for the legendary poet.
