Dharmanagar, Tripura, 16th of May 2026 : Fresh allegations of corruption have surfaced regarding the poor condition of the DK Road connecting Dharmanagar and Kailashahar, one of the most important roads in North Tripura. Large potholes have developed on several stretches of the road for a long time, forcing commuters and drivers to travel under constant risk. Several accidents have already been reported, many of which were covered by the media at different times.

According to sources, a tender worth approximately ₹57 lakh was approved in 2025 for the repair and renovation of the road. The tender was submitted by Subhash Nath and Moutusi Nath, and later awarded to Moutusi Nath. However, allegations claim that despite receiving the work order, no visible improvement or repair work has actually been carried out on the road.It is also being alleged that the name of a vice-president of the Yubarajnagar Mandal has surfaced as a subcontractor connected with the project, along with two other individuals.
At present, local residents are asking one major question: if ₹57 lakh was truly allocated for the road’s repair, where did the money go? Why is the road still in such a terrible condition? Was the allocated amount actually used for the road work, or is there a larger irregularity behind the project?Public anger is growing over the current state of the DK Road. Local residents are demanding immediate repair of the road and a fair, impartial investigation into the entire matter.
