Amarpur, Tripura, 18th of May 2026 : Due to constant sufferings of high way loose soil flow with rain water into villagers’ houses public wrath has been prevailed here in Ampi Colony areas. Demanding immediate solution of this critical risk excited local victim families have staged road blockade on Teliamura-Amarpur road in Ampinagar today (18th May, 2026).

As per the report, during high way construction small village paths and permanent drainage system have been blocked with loose soil in many locations. Now, when it is raining rain water does not find way to pass and as consequence it stands in some low places and create big water body gradually. Later on suddenly water flows in different ways with huge quantity of mud and enters villagers’ houses. There is a great horror amidst the locals who are living adjacent high way road without sleeping at night. They can not move, cook or sleep at night because when rain comes dirty water coming through their doors.

Now, every where is heap of mud in low land houses. Children are walking in the standing water interior their houses. Villagers have fingered to the concerned high way authority for their unsystematic road implementation without keeping water passing canals. The victim families have strongly raised their voice against the concerned authority for being indifference over the issue. The blockade was initiated in the morning and later on being informed the DCM has arrived the spot and interacted with the blockers. He has given assurance to the blockers that immediately proper step would be taken to relief the victim families from this hindrance and then the blockade was removed at about 3 pm.
