Dharmanagar, Tripura, 26th of May 2026 : Alleging that the 12-year rule of the BJP-led central government marks “a dark chapter in the country’s history,” the Dharmanagar District Congress organized a protest rally on Wednesday evening in Dharmanagar. He alleged that during the last 12 years, the democratic structure of the country had weakened and the lives of ordinary citizens had been pushed into severe hardship.According to the District Congress President, India has gone “at least 50 years backward” under the BJP government at the Centre. Prices of daily necessities continue to rise, while the government’s promises of development remain confined to speeches, he alleged. He also raised concerns over unemployment, the deteriorating education and healthcare systems, and the growing job crisis across the country.Among those present at the protest rally were Pradesh Congress Committee member Kebel Nandi, block Congress leaders, and party workers and supporters from different parts of the district.
