Mumbai, Maharashtra, 29th of May 2026 : Taking a significant step towards India’s journey of becoming a developed nation, Lodha Foundation has launched the country’s first privately funded theoretical physics research institute — the Lodha Theoretical Physics Institute (LTPI). Launched on May 27 at Lodha World Tower, the institute aims to bring together some of the world’s finest scientists and researchers on a single platform to encourage groundbreaking discoveries in fundamental physics.

The institute has been established with a vision to promote Nobel-level research and long-term scientific inquiry. LTPI will be led by globally renowned physicist and Wolf Prize winner Professor Jainendra K. Jain, whose pioneering work on “composite fermions” has transformed the understanding of quantum physics.
Abhishek Lodha, Trustee of Lodha Foundation and CEO & MD of Lodha Developers, said, “We believe that the pursuit of excellence creates the greatest impact. LTPI will play a crucial role in positioning India as a global powerhouse of knowledge and research.” Ashish Kumar Singh, Chief Mentor at Lodha Foundation, added, “When extraordinary minds from around the world come together, they create extraordinary outcomes. LTPI is built on that very belief.”
