Warangal, 11th of June, 2026 : Ushering in a new era for sports in the region, the Warangal Warriors, the first professional sports franchise to represent the city, unveiled their ambitious long-term vision and grassroots sports development roadmap at the exclusive “Meet Your Warangal Warriors” event, organised today at the iconic Kaloji Kala Kshethram, Warangal. Sri Naini Rajender Reddy, MLA, Warangal West; and Co-owners of Warangal Warriors Mr. Varun Jupally, Mr. Phani Chitneni and Mr. Dheeraj Induru; graced the occasion.

Ltd., the Warangal Warriors stand proudly among the eight founding franchises of the TG20 Cricket League, the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s ambitious vision to transform cricket in Telangana. Earlier the franchise made a statement of intent at the HCA TG20 Mega Auction by signing Indian cricket star Mohammed Siraj as its marquee player, catapulting Warangal into the national cricket spotlight and signalling its arrival as a formidable force in the league.
Though the TG20 League marks the Warangal Warriors’ entry into professional cricket, the franchise made it clear that its ambitions transcend competitive success alone. The vision launch unveiled a transformative roadmap focused on youth empowerment, grassroots talent development, and building a sustainable sporting ecosystem to bridge long-standing gaps in regional sports infrastructure and opportunities and excel in the tournament.
Addressing the enthusiastic fans, from Hyderabad, Indian cricket star Mohammed Siraj said, The TG20 Cricket League is a fantastic platform for local talent to showcase their skills and potential. Earlier today, we conducted a cricket camp and were delighted to witness the participation of over 250 enthusiastic youngsters. Their passion, energy, and commitment reaffirmed our belief in the immense sporting potential that exists here. Our vision extends beyond cricket. We are committed to contributing to the overall development of Warangal and creating opportunities across multiple sectors. With transformative projects such as the proposed airport and growing investments in infrastructure, Warangal is poised to become the next major growth hub of Telangana.
