Khowai, Tripura, 11th of June 2026 : The government remains dedicated to improving urban infrastructure and providing quality civic amenities. As part of this commitment, drainage development and road improvement projects have been initiated in Khowai town with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
However, due to delays and negligence on the part of the companies awarded the contracts, the residents of Khowai are facing considerable hardship and inconvenience.
The drainage development work currently underway in Subhash Park, Khowai, has become a source of concern for local residents, who claim that poor project execution by the contractors has led to a series of ongoing problems.
In view of the situation, Chairman of Khowai Municipal Council, Debashish Nath Sharma, brought the matter to the attention of the concerned department officials. Following this, officials from TUDA conducted an on-site inspection today to assess the ongoing work and listened to the grievances raised by the residents of the Subhash Park area.
The officials also held discussions with representatives of the contractor companies responsible for the project and assured the local residents that the pending works would be completed at the earliest.
It now remains to be seen whether today’s inspection and assurances will help resolve the day-to-day problems faced by the people of the Subhash Park area.
