Agartala, Tripura, 15th of June 2026 : The Rotary Club of Aspiring Agartala successfully organized “UTTORON” (উত্তরণ), a District Seminar on Mental Health & Addiction, at Sukanta Academy. The event was graced by District Governor (3240) Dr. Kameswar Singh Elangbam and Dr. Pallavi Maji, alongside Club President Dr. Damodar Chatterjee and Secretary Mrs. Jhumur Banik Sengupta.
The central motto of the seminar was a resounding call to action: “Break the Silence, Heal the Mind: Support Starts at Home, Survival Thrives with Friends and Family.” Speakers emphasized that overcoming addiction and managing mental health challenges cannot be done in isolation; it requires proactive care, empathy, and constant support from parents, friends, and the entire family unit to erase social stigma.
Key highlights included clinical sessions by Dr. Shantanu Ghosh and Dr. Prosenjit Ghosh, and a recovery feature by winner Sri Timir Bhattacharjee. Personal victory stories against addiction were shared by Mr. Nimai Choudhury, Ms. Mariam Debbarma, and Mr. Gobin, with expert insights from Shri Malyaban Chakraborty and Rtn. Dr. Amit Agarwal. A youth panel discussion chaired by AGMC Medical Superintendent Dr. Bidhan Goswami featured student leaders and influencer Tista Nath. The seminar concluded with a youth-centric open quiz and a moving dance-drama by Kanyakatha.
