Mashal Rally by DYFI in Dharmanagar Highlights Call for Mass Movement.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of June 2026 : Ahead of the 22nd Sub-Divisional Conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), scheduled to be held on Sunday in North Tripura’s Dharmanagar, a large torch rally was organized across the town on Saturday evening.The rally was held in protest against unemployment, rising prices of essential commodities, and the continuous increase in fuel prices.

A large number of DYFI leaders, workers, and supporters participated in the programme.Beginning at around 7:00 p.m., the procession marched through several important streets of Dharmanagar. Carrying burning torches, participants raised slogans highlighting various public issues and demands. According to the organization, the torch rally symbolized protest against the prevailing situation and conveyed a message of continued struggle for the rights of the youth.

Among those present were CPI(M) State Secretariat member and Chairman of the Conference Preparatory Committee Amitabha Datta, CPI(M) Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Secretary Ratan Roy, MLAs Islam Uddin and Shailendra Chandra Nath, DYFI Sub-Divisional Secretary Arjun Nath, President Sunny Chand, along with several other leaders.

The organization stated that a large number of young people in the state have been facing prolonged unemployment, while the rising cost of essential commodities has made life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens. These issues, it said, will be central to discussions at the conference, where future programmes and movements will be planned.Notably, the 22nd DYFI Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Conference, to be held on Sunday, will be attended by DYFI State President Palash Bhowmik as the chief guest, along with several other leaders.
