Dharmanagar, Tripura, 29th of June 2026 : The 22nd Sub-Divisional Conference of the Dharmanagar Sub -Divisional Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) was held in a colorful and festive atmosphere on Saturday (27th June, 2026).
The conference took place at the Faizur Rahman and Hem Gopal Sharma Memorial Stage, where delegates from different parts of the district pledged to further strengthen the youth movement.The conference formally began with the hoisting of the organizational flag by Dharmanagar Sub -Divisional President Sani Chand. This was followed by the offering of floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial, where leaders and delegates paid homage to the martyrs.
The presidium of the delegates’ session comprised Ramendu Goswami, Sani Chand, and Uttam Nath. The inaugural cultural performance by artists of the Tripura Cultural Coordination Centre added vibrancy to the event. Rajib Nath presented the condolence resolution at the beginning of the session. In his inaugural address, State Committee Member Abdul Hafiz elaborated on the organization’s structure and its future programmes. The keynote address was delivered by State President Palash Bhowmik.
Other speakers included State Secretariat Members Basudeb Bhattacharjee and Santwano Deb, along with State Committee Members Bijoy Biswas and Rajib Nath.Sub-Divisional Secretary Arjun Nath presented the organizational report, which was subsequently discussed by representatives from all 14 regional committees. A total of 200 delegates from the 14 regional committees participated in the conference.Preparatory Committee Chairman Amitabh Dutta called upon the youth to play a more active role in movements for the protection of their rights. Basudeb Bhattacharjee also emphasized the need to further strengthen the organization in his address.During the concluding session, a new 49-member Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Committee was unanimously elected.
At the committee’s first meeting, Jasim Uddin was elected President, while Arjun Nath was re-elected as Secretary.Leaders and delegates expressed confidence that under the newly elected leadership, the youth movement in Dharmanagar Sub-Division would become more organized, dynamic, and effective in the days ahead.
