Bharatiya Shiksha Divas Organized By The Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Tripura Prant.

Agartala, Tripura, 6th of July, 2026 : The grand program of Bharatiya Shiksha Divas (Bharatiya Education Day) was organized by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Tripura Prant, to mark the occasion of its Foundation Day. On this occasion, the resolve to strengthen the restoration of Bharat-ness in the field of education, the Bharatiya knowledge tradition, and the national educational vision was reiterated. The event was attended by local educationists, university professors, research scholars, students, and distinguished guests.

The program commenced at 10:30 AM with the arrival of the guests on stage. Immediately following this, at 10:32 AM, the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ was sung. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, offering floral tributes to the portrait of Maa Bharati (Mother Bharat), and honouring the guests by presenting them with traditional attire.

Prof. Vinod Kumar Mishra, Dean, Faculty of Literature, Tripura University, and National Co-Convener of the Bharatiya Bhasha Manch, extended a warm welcome to all the guests, teachers, students, and attendees at the beginning of the program. In his address, he shed light on the objectives of the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and elaborated on the necessity of establishing Bharatiya values within the Bharatiya education system.

Dr. Vishwa Bandhu, Associate Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Tripura University, presented the introductory remarks. He shared a detailed account of the history of the establishment of the Nyas and its journey, which began with the ‘Shiksha Bachao Andolan’ (Save Education Movement) in 2004. He also outlined all the dimensions and projects of the Nyas. Highlighting the work done by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas over the past years, he traced its path from the Save Education Movement launched in Delhi in 2004 to the formal establishment of the Nyas in 2007. He further noted that the Nyas secured landmark judgments across 12 courts against distortions prevalent in academic curricula. The efforts of the Nyas include the formation of textbook boards in states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the promotion of Panchakosha-based education, campaigns against the “use and throw” culture, taking Mother Tongue Day and National Mathematics Day to the masses, integrating suggestions into the National Education Policy-2020, and several other achievements. Currently, the Nyas is running the “Education Campaign for Developed Bharat” and the “Call Bharat, Bharat” initiatives. The Nyas firmly believes that by 2047, when Bharat completes 100 years of independence, the country must become economically, materially, spiritually, and culturally prosperous, for which making the education system Bharat-centric is essential.

Prof. Timir Tripathi from the Department of Zoology, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, and Zonal Convener (North-East Zone) of the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, delivered the keynote address as the chief speaker. He emphasized giving priority to a Bharatiya perspective across every field of education, character building, the holistic development of personality, environmental education, Vedic mathematics, education in the mother tongue, and the Bharatiya knowledge tradition. He remarked that we are the flagbearers of a tradition that possesses the capacity to assimilate knowledge from all across the globe.

Shri Bimal Kanti Ray Ji, Sanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Tripura Prant, stated in his presidential address that education determines the future of a nation. He stressed the indispensability of a Bharat-centric educational framework to achieve the goal of a Developed Bharat (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.

In conclusion, Dr. Manoj Kumar Maurya, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Tripura University, and State Convener of the Research Project, Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Tripura Prant, expressed his gratitude to all the speakers, guests, organizers, and the audience. The program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
