Amarpur, Gomati, Tripura, 24th July, 2026 : The Malbasa Rural Haat, established with financial assistance from NABARD and implemented by Malbasa LAMPS Limited, was formally inaugurated in a ceremony attended by dignitaries, government officials, and members of the local community.
The programme was graced by Ms. Tanushree Bhattacharya, General Manager, NABARD, Tripura Regional Office, as the Chief Guest.
The Guests of Honour included Mr. Bhajan Chandra Ray, Managing Director, Tripura State Cooperative Bank, and Mr. Shankar Lal Das, In-charge ARCS.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Yubaraj Jamatia, President of the Executive Committee, Malbasa LAMPS Limited.
Delivering the welcome address, Mr. Dibakar Bhattacharya, Managing Director of Malbasa LAMPS Limited, stated that the Rural Haat would play a significant role in the socio-economic development of the region by providing a dedicated marketplace for local farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, and small entrepreneurs to market their products.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of the Rural Haat in strengthening the rural economy, generating livelihood opportunities, and improving market access for locally produced goods. They expressed confidence that the initiative would contribute significantly to sustainable rural development and enhance the income of the local community.
The event was attended by officials from various government departments, public representatives, members of Malbasa LAMPS Limited, representatives of Self-Help Groups, and other distinguished guests.
The programme concluded with the presentation of mementoes to the guests and a collective commitment to ensure the successful functioning of the Malbasa Rural Haat for the benefit of the local community.
