New Delhi, Delhi, 3rd of August, 2026 : Firingoti today announced the launch of Helpmonk (download link: helpmonk.in), a free mobile application designed to connect people affected by disasters, natural calamities, emergencies and distress situations with individuals, volunteers, NGOs, government agencies, rescue teams and donors through a single, easy-to-use digital platform.
While the immediate focus of the platform is to support people affected by the ongoing floods in Assam, Helpmonk has been built as a nationwide disaster response platform that can be deployed during floods, earthquakes, cyclones, landslides, cloudbursts, fires and other emergencies across India. The long-term vision is to expand the platform globally so that communities anywhere in the world can benefit from a coordinated disaster response ecosystem.
Helpmonk aims to support the entire disaster management cycle—from raising an SOS and locating stranded people to coordinating rescue operations, delivering relief materials, rehabilitation support and long-term recovery. The platform enables disaster victims to seek help instantly while allowing government agencies, NGOs, volunteer groups, emergency responders and donors to identify needs in real time and respond more efficiently.
Through the app, affected individuals can upload their location, photographs, details of their condition and immediate requirements. The platform allows volunteers, relief agencies and donors to directly connect with verified beneficiaries, making assistance faster, more transparent and more targeted.
Speaking on the launch, Anuj Kumar Boruah, Co-founder of Firingoti and ideator of Helpmonk, said, “I belong to Sivasagar district in Assam, which is witnessing one of the worst flood situations in recent memory. Thousands of families have been displaced, and many areas that rarely experienced flooding in the past—including towns like Charaideo, Nazira, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat and Dergaon—have been severely affected. Watching this devastation made us realise that while people across India and the world genuinely want to help, there is often no single trusted platform that connects those in need with those willing to assist. Helpmonk was born out of that need.”

The application has been developed by Dikshit Rajkhowa, a New Delhi-based technology professional originally from Assam.
Rajkhowa said, “Helpmonk has been developed with simplicity, speed and reliability as its core principles. The platform incorporates features such as geo-tagging, location sharing, image uploads, verification mechanisms and real-time status updates so that help reaches the right people quickly. After Anuj shared the idea and the prototype of Helpmonk, we built the first version of the application in less than a week because we understood the urgency of the situation in Assam, but the architecture has been designed to scale for disaster response anywhere in India.”
Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty, Co-founderof Firingoti, said the initiative is entirely humanitarian.
“Helpmonk is completely free to use. Firingoti does not earn any revenue from this platform. This is our collective response to the suffering caused by disasters, beginning with our home state of Assam. Our objective is to enable people to help one another directly while also strengthening coordination among all stakeholders involved in disaster response.”
She added that the platform can also become a valuable resource for journalists, researchers, policymakers and relief agencies by providing real-time information from the ground, helping improve situational awareness and response planning during disasters.
Beyond connecting victims with donors, Helpmonk is expected to support government departments, disaster management authorities, NGOs and volunteer networks by enabling better coordination of rescue operations, relief distribution, rehabilitation efforts and resource allocation through live, location-based information.
Anuj said new features will be introduced in phases, including volunteer management, shelter mapping, missing persons support, relief inventory tracking, emergency helpline integration, rehabilitation monitoring and disaster analytics. The company plans to expand Helpmonk across India before making the platform available globally.
