Hyderabad, Telangana, 4th of August, 2026 : To mark National Vascular Day and encourage early detection of vascular diseases, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, is offering a Free Vascular Health Check on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The one-day initiative includes a free Doppler test and consultation with renowned vascular surgeon Dr. P. C. Gupta, Clinical Director & HOD – Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, Vascular IR & Podiatric Surgery.

Vascular diseases affect the arteries and veins that carry blood throughout the body and often develop silently. Early symptoms such as leg pain while walking, persistent swelling, numbness in the feet or wounds that do not heal are frequently ignored, delaying diagnosis until blood circulation has been severely affected.

According to the Vascular Society of India, vascular diseases remain under-recognised despite constituting a significant health burden. Early diagnosis and timely intervention can help prevent disability, preserve mobility and reduce the risk of limb-threatening complications.

Speaking ahead of National Vascular Day, Dr. P. C. Gupta said, “Many people believe leg pain while walking is simply part of ageing, but it can be an early warning sign of blocked arteries. Similarly, persistent swelling, cold feet or wounds that do not heal should never be ignored. Early diagnosis enables timely treatment and, in many cases, helps prevent serious complications.”

He added, “People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smokers and adults above 50 years are at a higher risk of vascular disease. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage people to undergo a simple vascular evaluation before the disease progresses.”

Abhinav Joshi, Hospital Chief Operating Officer, CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, said, “At CARE Hospitals, we believe that prevention and early diagnosis are just as important as advanced treatment. Through this National Vascular Day initiative, we aim to make specialised vascular screening more accessible and encourage people to recognise the early warning signs of vascular disease before they progress to serious complications through timely intervention.”

A Doppler test is a painless, non-invasive investigation that evaluates blood flow through the arteries and veins and helps detect narrowing or blockages at an early stage.

CARE Hospitals advises the public to seek medical evaluation if they experience leg pain or cramps while walking, persistent swelling in the legs, varicose veins, coldness or numbness in the feet, changes in the colour of the legs or feet, or foot ulcers and wounds that do not heal.

The Free Vascular Health Check will be available only on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the CARE Hospitals Outpatient Centre, Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

The free screening is especially recommended for people with diabetes, smokers, individuals above 50 years of age and anyone experiencing symptoms of poor blood circulation.

Prior appointment is mandatory, and registrations are subject to limited availability. To book an appointment, call 040 61 565656.
