Mumbai, Maharashtra, 5th of August, 2026 : CRISIL Ratings has assigned a ‘CRISIL AA/Stable’ rating to the proposed long-term bank facilities of Vedanta Iron & Steel Limited , recognising the company’s strong business fundamentals, integrated operating model and improving financial profile following the Vedanta Group demerger.
The rating reinforces confidence in Vedanta Iron And Steel Ltd’s ability to sustain stable operating performance while executing its long-term growth strategy as an independent listed company.

Vedanta Iron And Steel Ltd delivered a strong start as a listed company in Q1 FY27, with revenue rising 18% to ₹3,662 crore, EBITDA growing 54% to ₹515 crore, EBITDA margin expanding to 14% from 11%, and reporting a ₹121 crore profit against a ₹145 crore loss last year, supported by healthy cash generation and prudent capital allocation.
According to CRISIL, the rating is supported by Vedanta Iron And Steel Ltd’s diversified mining portfolio, integrated iron ore-to-steel value chain, healthy liquidity, improving leverage profile and strategic importance within the Vedanta Group.
Vedanta Iron And Steel Ltd is the demerged iron and steel business of the Vedanta Group and is 56.4% owned by Vedanta Resources Limited.
