Khowai, Tripura, 6th of August, 2026 : A protest rally organized by Khowai District Committee of the Vishva Hindu Parishad in Khowai on Wednesday (5th August, 2026).
The protest rally and demonstration were organized by the Khowai District Committee of the Vishva Hindu Parishad following alleged remarks made by CPI(M) State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury regarding the Hindu Sanatan faith.
At around 4:00 p.m. today, members and supporters of the Khowai District Committee of the Vishva Hindu Parishad assembled near the Radha Krishna Temple at Subhash Park in Khowai. They took out a protest rally that marched through various roads of Khowai town before returning to the temple premises, where a protest meeting was subsequently held.
Today’s protest rally and meeting were led by Saptadwip Acharjee, President of the Khowai District Committee of the Vishva Hindu Parishad. Leaders of the Vishva Hindu Parishad from various organizational levels were also present at the programme.
