Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers Felicitates Tripura’s Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist Judoka Asmita Dey.

Agartala, Tripura, 14th of August, 2026 : Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers felicitated Tripura’s Asmita Dey for winning the 2026 Commonwealth Games Gold Medal for judo – the first ever by any Indian judoka – and doing India proud.

Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers also felicitated Asmita Dey’s Mentor, Pranab Saha, Chief Coach & Arjuna Awardee, Yashpal Solanki and personal Coach and former bronze medal winner, Vijay Yadav – people behind the making of this champion judoka.

Asmita Dey, born and brought up in Belonia, received her initial judo training at home State Tripura before moving to Sports Authority Of India’s Regional Centre at Bhopal for advanced training and going on to excel in the martial art and prove her mettle by participating in International sports events and winning gold medals at Khela India University Games – where she was crowned Junior National Champion for 2023-24 – and African Open at Casablanca in 2025 – apart from significant wins at international judo championships in Macau and Bangkok.
