Police Officers Awarded for Exceptional Service At Independence Day Celebration, Assam Rifles Ground.

Agartala, Tripura, 16th of August, 2026 : For their dedicated service, honesty, professionalism, efficiency, and excellence in the Tripura Police, several police personnel who were conferred various medals by the President of India in 2025 were presented with their certificates and medals by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at the Independence Day celebration at Assam Rifles Ground on Saturday (15th August, 2026).

Tripura’s officiating Director General of Police, G. S. Rao, was awarded the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service for his exceptional service. The Chief Minister presented the certificate and medal to the officiating DGP.

Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, Superintendent of Police Manik Lal Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Debbarma, SDPO Pannalal Sen, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamal Debbarma, and Subedar Niranjan Debbarma of the 8th Battalion, TSR were conferred the President’s Police Medal. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha honoured them by presenting their certificates and medals.

The President’s Medal for Meritorious Servicewas awarded toDIGP (Northern Range) Ratiranjan Debnath, Subedar Pashuram Debbarma of the 1st Battalion, TSR, Havildar Dilip Kumar Singh of the 5th Battalion, TSR, Constable Dhruv Kapali of the Special Branch, Constable Uttam Debnath of the Police Training Academy, and Constable Hemendra Chandra Nath of North District. The Chief Minister felicitated them by presenting the medals and certificates.

Sub-Inspector Jhutan Jamatiawas conferred theUnion Home Minister’s Medal for Excellence. For participating in the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi last year, Senior Under Officer Salka Debbarma of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, Senior Under Officer Joydeep Saha of 15 Tripura Battalion NCC, Under Officer Sagarika Majumdar of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, Under Officer Krishna Baishnab of 15 Tripura Battalion NCC, Cadet Shahit Debbarma of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, and Cadet Akash Jamatia of 15 Tripura Battalion NCC were also honoured. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha presented the certificates and medals to them.

At Independence Day celebrations event, the names of the police officers and personnel who have been conferred various medals with the approval of the President of India on the occasion of the 2026 Independence Day celebrations were announced. The medal recipients will be presented with their certificates and medals at the 2027 Republic Day celebration.
