Award Ceremony Held For Nripendra Kumar Roy Memorial Auction Bridge Running Tournament.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 23rd of August, 2026 : The award distribution ceremony of the Nripendra Kumar Roy Memorial Auction Bridge Running Tournament was held in a festive atmosphere at Prabin Angan on the northern bank of Kalidighi in Dharmanagar on Saturday (22nd August, 2026) evening. The tournament, which began on June 21, concluded with the ceremony.

Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty attended the event as the chief guest. Members of the Auction Bridge Committee, distinguished personalities, players and sports enthusiasts were also present.A total of 28 teams participated in this year’s popular Auction Bridge tournament. After competing through several rounds, three teams reached the final stage.During Saturday’s ceremony, prizes and honours were presented to the players of the three finalist teams. The organisers congratulated the winners, runners-up and other finalists for their performances.

Two veteran players who have made significant contributions to Auction Bridge over the years were also specially felicitated. Their experience, contribution to the promotion of the game and efforts to inspire the younger generation were highlighted during the programme.The guests paid tribute to the memory of Nripendra Kumar Roy and said that sports are not merely a form of entertainment but also play an important role in strengthening social interaction, friendship and mental development. They stressed the need to organise regular competitions to make intellectual and social games such as Auction Bridge more popular in Dharmanagar.

The organisers said they would encourage various clubs and social organisations in Dharmanagar to organise Auction Bridge competitions on their own initiatives in the future. They expressed hope that such efforts would expand the popularity of the game across the town and generate greater interest among the younger generation.The award ceremony created a lively atmosphere at Prabin Angan, with players, organisers, guests and sports enthusiasts in attendance.
