Online Cab Service To Be Available From September 3.

Agartala, Tripura, 29th of August, 2026 : From September 3 onward online cab service will be available from Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala railway station and Jogendranagar railway station. This was decided at a meeting of the transport department held at the state secretariat today. Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury who chaired the said meeting said, once this service gets operational passengers coming from outside the state will benefit. He also reminded that if any indiscipline is reported in this service, the government will not tolerate that. He said that rate chart for fare will be sought from different auto-rickshaw unions. After considering the rate charts submitted by different unions, a final rate chart will be prepared. Charging extra fare will not be considered at all.

At the meeting the Transport Minister said, to keep abreast of the time, the government wants to introduce a smooth and appropriate system in public transport, adding that people should adapt to the changing time and new system. Because, this is the age of digitization. In this regard the minister urged all motor unions to cooperate. The representatives of the motor unions on their part assured the minister of their cooperation.

The Transport Minister also said, efforts are being made to ensure all advanced facilities are available at the Amrit Bharat stations. He emphasized installation of advanced CCTV cameras at Jogendranagar railway station. Some other issues were also discussed in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the transport secretary U.K. Chakma, SP-West Tripura Namit Pathak, officials from the Agartala and Jogendranagar railway station, officials of the transport department, representatives of different motor unions, Ora Ride, Uber and Niljyoti Travels.
