Agartala, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : Rakhi Utsav was celebrated at the official residence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday (29th August, 2026). Students of schools and colleges and women representatives of different organisations participated in this festival.
Interacted with the media the Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said, Rakhi Bandhan is a sacred festival. This festival strengthens the relation between a brother and sister. Rakhi Bandhan Festival is also an integral part of our cultural tradition. The Chief Minister wished good health and long life to all those women who tied Rakhi on his wrist and said, this kind of festival also creates mutual respect and love. In line with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is also working for the empowerment, safety and financial self-reliance of women. The state has attained a good name for itself in terms of women’s empowerment in the country.
