Dharmanagar, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : Promoting the message of brotherhood, mutual harmony, social unity and communal amity, a Raksha Bandhan celebration was held at the Dharmanagar BJP District Office on Saturday. Organized by the Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha, the event brought political workers and supporters, as well as journalists, into the festive spirit by tying sacred rakhis on their wrists.
Among those present at the programme were BJP North District General Secretary Rupali Adhikari, the MLA of Dharmanagar, members of the BJP District Yuva Morcha, and various office-bearers and members of the Dharmanagar Mandal. Journalists from the Dharmanagar Press Club were also present on the occasion.Members of the Mahila Morcha tied rakhis on the wrists of those present and extended their greetings. They also tied rakhis on the hands of journalists from the Dharmanagar Press Club, conveying a message of brotherhood and goodwill.The BJP District Office witnessed a festive atmosphere throughout the programme.

Along with tying rakhis, members of the Mahila Morcha called for strengthening relationships based on mutual respect, affection, trust and cooperation. The importance of maintaining social harmony and mutual goodwill beyond political boundaries was also highlighted. Speakers at the programme said that Raksha Bandhan is not merely a festival or a formal ritual. It represents mutual trust, a sense of responsibility, affection, protection and brotherhood. The festival holds special significance in strengthening bonds of harmony and mutual understanding among people from different sections of society.They further emphasized that, at a time when social divisions and distances can emerge, there is a need to create an atmosphere of cooperation, empathy and unity. The sacred bond of Rakhi symbolizes this spirit of unity and harmony. Everyone should develop a mindset of standing by one another for the welfare of society and its people.The participation of Dharmanagar Press Club journalists added a wider social dimension to the Mahila Morcha’s initiative. The programme also conveyed a message of maintaining cordial relations between journalists and political and social organizations.
