Agartala, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : With the initiative of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) 1st Battalion organized Rakhi Utsab at TSR 1st Battalion, Gakulnagar, Bishalgarh under Sepahijala District on Saturday (29th August, 2026).

Rakhi Bandhan is a sacred festival. This festival signifies the celebration of emotions like love, compassion, and fraternity. Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Rakhi Bandhan Festival at the TSR Battalion no. 1 ground at Gokulnagar this evening. He said, these days the women of the state are earning recognition for their talents in different fields. In the recent time, outstanding performance of golden girl of the state Asmita Dey at the Commonwealth Games was such an example. He said the state government has taken various initiatives for the development and safety of women. The government is prioritising safety of women. Already nine women police stations have been opened in eight districts of the state. Physical fitness will not be enough, but mental fitness of women should also be taken care of.

Welcome address was delivered by the DGP in-charge G.S. Rao. Police officers and personnel of all ranks took part in the celebrations by tying Rakhi on the wrist of Chief Minister. Among other dignitaries present at the event included IG (law and order) Ipper Manchak, IG (intelligence and security) Krishnendu Chakraborty, IG Prabir Majumder, DIG Police Headquarters Jal Singh Meena, DIG (crime) Sanjay Roy, Sepahijala DM Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, SP Bijoy Debbarma, SDM of Bishalgarh Binki Saha.
